Procesan a asaltantes de una farmacia
Ulises Miguel Caballero Osorio (28) y Atilio Ramón Benítez Yegros (30), acusados de asaltar a mano armada una farmacia del barrio Don Bosco, de donde se alzaron con una importante suma de dinero y otros objetos personales de los funcionarios y clientes ocasionales, fueron procesados ayer y con pedido de prisión preventiva por la tipificación de «robo agravado», por la fiscal Cinthia Leiva.
El asalto se registró en la sucursal de Farmacenter, en el Km 7, barrio Don Bosco de Ciudad del Este, el pasado lunes 17, poco después de las 20:00, cuando los bandidos ingresaron al local y se alzaron con G. 2.173.050 que estaban en caja, más un teléfono celular, corporativo del comercio.
En esa ocasión, los marginales llevaron una cartera, propiedad de la cliente Darcy Tamara Gómez Martínez, que contenía G. 300.000 y otros objetos personales, como también resultaron víctima Mariela Domínguez Garcete, Noelia Cabrera Britos y Javier Fernández Morel, este último, guardia de seguridad.
Del poder los mismos fueron incautados dos armas de fuego, presumiblemente utilizados para la comisión del robo agravado, el teléfono corporativo de la farmacia, dos motocicletas similares a las que aparecen en las filmaciones de circuito cerrado como utilizadas para el crimen, ropas y enseres personales que utilizaron al momento de la comisión de hecho, según refiere la carpeta fiscal.
La Secretaría Nacional Antidrogas (Senad) interceptó un convoy de tres vehículos que transportaba más de 33 toneladas de drogas en plena vía pública de la localidad de Yby Pytã, departamento de Canindeyú.
Agentes especiales de la Senad, de la Dirección de Inteligencia, realizaron en la tarde y noche del domingo varios operativos en el marco de una investigación denominada caso «Azkaban». La misma se inició cuando los antidrogas interceptaron a un convoy de tres vehículos que transportaba 3.322 kilos de marihuana, distribuidos en 302 paquetes.
La comitiva, bajo la dirección del fiscal Guillermo Sanabria, logró interceptar a dos automóviles de la marca Toyota y un camión de la marca Hyundai, que iban en caravana con destino a la frontera con el Brasil.
Fueron detenidas cinco personas identificadas como Patricio Ariel Benítez Quintana, Líder David Gómez Benítez, Aldo Rubén Contreras Navarro, Elio Antonio Sosa González y Lucía Ortega Fernández.
Posterior a eso se realizaron cuatro allanamientos en las viviendas de los detenidos, en coordinación con el fiscal Néstor Narváez, donde no se encontraron otras evidencias relevantes. No obstante, el representante del Ministerio Público dispuso el traslado de los rodados y detenidos a la Base de Operaciones de la Senad en Asunción, donde realizó el conteo y pesaje del cargamento incautado.
El expresidente del Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, actualmente comisionado de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) para temas de discapacidad, comunicó este lunes la instalación de la oficina desde la cual desarrollará su trabajo en la región buscando convertir a Latinoamérica en referente de la materia.
La comunicación de la apertura de dicha oficina se dio luego de una reunión que mantuvo el comisionado de la OEA con el presidente de la República, Mario Abdo Benítez, en Palacio de Gobierno.
«Para nosotros que haya decidido estar en Asunción para trabajar desde aquí con toda la región en un área tan importante y sensible como son los derechos de los discapacitados, y construir políticas públicas que permitan mayor inclusión, es una gran satisfacción», manifestó el presidente paraguayo al dar la bienvenida al comisionado.
Moreno, por su parte, señaló que mediante los programas encaminados en su país, el Ecuador se convirtió en un referente mundial de la atención a las personas con discapacidad y afirmó que el objetivo desde su nuevo cargo es que se logre ese posicionamiento en la región. «Que Latinoamérica sea un referente y hemos decidido iniciar el trabajo en Paraguay», dijo.
«Esperamos poder dar el asesoramiento para que ustedes logren bastante más que aquello que logramos en el Ecuador», añadió.
El exmandatario ecuatoriano recordó que en su momento fue enviado especial de Naciones Unidas para temas de discapacidad en Ginebra y que en este momento fue el secretario general de la OEA, Luis Almagro, quien lo designó para tratar el tema de discapacidad en la región.

El Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores solicitó informes a la Cancillería argentina, al igual que la embajada de este país en Paraguay, de manera a esclarecer la muerte de un joven de 22 años, quien presuntamente fue baleado por agentes de la Prefectura Naval Argentina.
La embajada paraguaya en Buenos Aires solicitó al Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Argentina su profunda preocupación ante la gravedad de los hechos denuncias y el pedido de su pronto esclarecimiento, y que los responsables sean sometidos a la justicia.
Igualmente se ha tomado contacto con la Prefectura Naval Argentina, quienes informaron del inicio de un sumario administrativo.
El lunes 10 de enero por la tarde ocurrió el hecho en la zona de Puerto Triunfo, departamento de Itapúa. La denuncia señala que Rodrigo Fabián Caballero Irala, de 22 años, se encontraba con otras dos personas en una embarcación sobre el río Paraná, cruzando hacia la Argentina, cuando ocurrieron los disparos.
La denuncia de los presentes fue que se trataron de agentes de la Prefectura Naval del vecino país. La embarcación retomó a territorio paraguayo, donde se constató el deceso del joven.
Considerando la gravedad de la situación, se ha tomado contacto con la Embajada Argentina en Asunción, solicitando su colaboración en el seguimiento del caso hasta el esclarecimiento de los hechos y el resultado de los sumarios abiertos o cualquier otra información relevante, informó el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores.
